Haters....
"If they hate then let 'em hate and watch the money pile up" In a NE sports fan case its probably more like "watch the championships pile up". I mean good god. The Sox are the defending champs, and the best team this season. The Pats went to the SB (i know, i know) after finishing the regular season undefeated. The Celts just beat the Lakers in the Finals. Its never been like this around here. The haters, of course, will always be there. They claim there were no Sox fans before 2004. No Pats fans before 2001. No C's fans after the Bird era. People are just jealous in my opinion. Honestly, I don't blame them for hating. New England is the center of the sports world..maybe even the universe.

Being a NE sports fan myself, I'll agree that there are alot of people out there that have jumped on the Celts' Bus lately. I'm not a rabid C's fan but a fan alike. I honeslty hate basketball due to the fact that there's no hitting involoved. And don't give this crap about "Elbows being thrown at the post", or "Grabbing your jersey and trying to sneak in a punch to the junk" or "Intentional fouls knocking players to the floor". Don't compare that to being Mack Trucked by an NFL Linebacker as you're watching the QB for a pass. But, I digress. New breed of C's fans. Its now "Trendy" and "Cool" to be a C's fan. I'd hear about games where attendance was so bad you could sit anywhere in the house, as long as you buy a hotdog. Watching Pierce getting boo'd by about ten people all wearing Bird jerseys on NESN. Don't get me wrong, I love that the Celts won. I am a fan, just not a die hard. Being a New Englander you have to love NE sports teams. I remember walking with my nephew a few years back to the Boston Aquarium and watching the look of disdain people would give this 9yr old boy for wearing a Yankees hat(Which his relatives in NY gave to him and his mother made him wear because his hair was messy). Since that day I've refused to allow any of my nieces, nephews, or pets wear anything other than a Sox, B's, C's, Revs(Ha Ha ha), or Pats' gear. Just don't want them to get jumped in their 4th grade class by other kids whose parents love them enough to buy them the proper gear in the first place. I am a fan of all NE sports teams from the day I was born. You will never see me walking around Main St wearing a green "Believe in Boston" flag as a cape talking about how I've "stuck by the C's through the good times and bad". I will say that I always cheer them on, even though I don't care for basketball.
